Hospital Services

Colonoscopy / Endoscopy

Each patient receives their own private prep/recovery room, comple with a television and DVD player.

Located on the second floor of The Hansen Center, the Outpatient Clinic includes two state-of-the-art endoscopy suites.

What is a colonoscopy/endoscopy?
Endoscopy equipment lets physicians do both colonscopies and upper endoscopies. Upper endoscopies provide a scope of the esophagus and stomach and are used to discover the reason for swallowing difficulties, nausea, vomiting, reflux, bleeding, indigestion or chest pain. Colonoscopies provide a scope of the colon, large intestine and rectum and are commonly used to look for early signs of cancer or to diagnose the causes of unexplained changes in bowel habits. Colonoscopies are often given to patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s Disease or ulcerative colitis.

About our Private Rooms
For the privacy of our patients, the Outpatient Clinic includes 10 prep/recovery rooms for those undergoing an endoscopy or colonscopy. These rooms provide the patient and their families a place of their own to go before and after the procedure. The rooms are furnished with televisions and DVD players, and a centrally located nourishment center is available for the family to help themselves to drinks and snacks while waiting.
