Nutrition Services
The Nutrition Services staff at Margaret Mary Community Hospital has put together a variety of programs to meet your individual nutrition needs. Our knowledgeable team of registered dietitians can help you lose weight, lower your cholesterol or simply prepare healthier meals for your family. We have both group classes and individual counseling to help you reach your nutrition goals.
Slim Down Now
This is a weight-loss program with no guesswork! Our dietitians provide customized daily meal plans, a Slim Down Now binder and a pedometer. Phase 1 (first 4 weeks) is the fat-burning portion where you may lose up to 10 pounds fast. Phase 2 (last 6 weeks) is the personality portion where you will lose up to 1-2 pounds per week. This 10-week program is led by a registered dietitian. Cost is $100. Class size is limited.
Building a Healthy Temple Nutrition Classes
Offered at local churches or by request for community groups
- Happy Home, Healthy Home – Strategies for raising smarter, stronger, healthier and happier kids with powerful tactics for making family mealtimes more enjoyable
- Meals in Minutes – Great tasting, healthy meals and snacks prepared in five minutes or less
- Supermarket Survival – Aisle-by-Aisle virtual supermarket tour to help you make the most of your food dollar
- Recipe Rehab – Creative and tasty substitutions to lighten up your family favorite recipes
- Sixty and Sensational! – Great-tasting, healthy meal ideas for seniors
- Make Yourself Over from the Inside Out – Youth-oriented program to help teens learn which foods help to achieve glowing skin, shiny hair, strong bones and magnificent muscles
- Additional topics may be available by request
Individual Counseling
Medical Nutrition Therapy is a process where you are individually assessed and a personal nutrition plan is developed just for you. Our specialties include GI disorders, cancer, eating disorders, vegetarianism, disease prevention and weight loss. The number of sessions vary depending on your needs and goals.
