Rehabilitation Services
The main goal of MMCH’s Rehabilitation Team is to promote the healing process, improve patient functioning and prevent re-injury. Patients in need of rehab services may have experienced a stroke, injury, surgery or illness. MMCH provides speech, occupational and physical therapies at its Outpatient Rehabilitation Center located at 206 State Road 129 South in Batesville. Our trained therapists can help patients improve movement, function and performance through a full range of specialized services. Click here to see pictures of our rehab facility.
Physical Therapy
The purpose of physical therapy is to evaluate, treat and prevent neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders. We assess joint motions, muscle strength, endurance and the performance of activities required in daily living. We treat orthopedic injuries including:
- Fractures and sports injuries
- Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
- Strokes and neuromuscular dieases
- Total joint replacements
- Amputees
- Wound patients
- Back and neck injuries
- Arthritis
- Post-surgical debilities
- Chronic pulmonary diseases
- Geriatric patients

Occupational Therapy
The purpose of occupational therapy is to help those whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury or illness, developmental problems, the aging process or psychological difficulties. We treat the following:
- Motor and Sensory Disorders
- Cognitive and Perceptual disorders
- Arthritis
- Head and Spinal Injuries
- Amputations
- Total joint replacements
- Burns
- Head Trauma
- Strokes
- Joint Replacements
- Neurological disorders such as Multiple Scelerosis and Parkinson’s Disease
- Developmental Disabilities
Our Occupational Therapy team helps bring our patients back to their full potential by offering comprehensive evaulations, customized treatment programs and training in the use of adaptive equipment if necessary. Our goal is to help you establish a routine that will help you avoid re-admission to the hospital and corrective surgery.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is the treatment of human communication problems including disorders of speech, language and swallowing. Our speech therapists provide services to help alleviate disorders of articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, speech reading, voice, oral-motor and chewing/swallowing disorders.

Other Services
Other Rehab Services include work conditioning, aquatic therapy, sports medicine, incontinence treatment, driver's assessment and pelvic floor dysfunction. We also offer a Wheelchair Clinic for people in need of a new custom wheelchair or repairs to an existing wheelchair. The Wheelchair Clinic is held the third Thursday of each month.
