Hospital Services

Integrative Medicine

Integrative Medicine combines traditional medical treatments with complementary and alternative medicine to treat diseases, reduce side effects and reduce stress. MMCH offers the following services:

Acupuncture
Under the direction of Edward Negovetich, MD, MMCH offers acupuncture at the Outpatient Rehab Center on State Road 129 in Batesville. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles at strategic points along energy channels of the body. Dr. Negovetich uses acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal issues including those related to the back, knee, neck, foot, shoulder and more. He is also a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Appointments are required by calling (812) 934-4042.

Physiatry
Physiatry – also called physical medicine and rehabilitation – is a branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of disease primarily by using "physical" means (such as physical therapy and medications). The field of physiatry uses a non-surgical approach to treat such conditions as lower back pain, arthritis, work injuries, sports injuries, brain injuries and neurological disorders. Physiatrist Ed Negovetich, MD sees patients at the Outpatient Rehab Center on State Road 129. To schedule an appointment, call (812) 934-4042.

Massage
Available at The Hansen Center, massage is currently being offered to our cancer patients. Massage provides significant therapeutic benefits. Scientific research shows that massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, relieves stress and boosts the immune system. For cancer patients, massage therapy can reduce pain, anxiety, nausea, fatigue and depression. For more information, call (812) 932-HOPE.
