Dietitian Writes Book
Many people in southeastern Indiana know Becky Hand as a registered dietitian at Margaret Mary Health. What they may not know about her is she also works for SparkPeople.com, the largest online diet community in the U.S., and has recently co-authored a new book.
Written by Hand with help from Stepfanie Romine, The Spark Solution is a 14-day comprehensive diet program that’s proven, easy to follow and keeps readers motivated to reach healthy weight loss goals. The book combines the latest nutritional science for reducing cravings, stabilizing blood sugars and lowering cholesterol with easy-to-accomplish workouts and daily motivation. The book can be purchased online or at the Bookshelf book store in Batesville.
Margaret Mary Health recently received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades, the leading online resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals.
This award recognizes hospitals for patient satisfaction related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness, noise levels and medication and post-discharge care instructions. Less than 15 percent of the hospitals in the nation received the award.
Hospital Changes Name
Margaret Mary Community Hospital has recently changed its name to Margaret Mary Health. With multiple offsite locations, specialty services and new physicians on staff, the word “hospital” no longer describes all that Margaret Mary does.
“We’ve been a great community hospital for more than 80 years, but along the way, we’ve become more than just a hospital,” said Margaret Mary president, Tim Putnam. “The name Margaret Mary Health better represents who we are and what we do.”
